- During the first half of his career, Scott traveled extensively for work, having visited 5 of the 7 world continents and 46 of the 50 United States during that time.
- Nowadays, Scott prefers to stay close to the home near Youngsport that he shares with Stefanie, his beloved wife of 25 years, two dogs, and the occasional brood of chickens.
- All water used in their household comes from a private well, and water conservation is a part of life for them due to the state of the aquifer in that area of the District.
- When not working, Scott enjoys the great outdoors and tinkering with all manner of mechanical and electrical devices in his home shop.
