DESCRIPTION:NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS OF THE CLEARWATER UNDERGROUND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT \nRELATED TO THE PETITION FOR ANNEXATION OF WESTERN PORTIONS OF WILLIAMSON COUNTY \nFebruary 12\, 2024\, & February 13\, 2024\, 6:00 P.M. \nLocations in Cedar Park\, TX and Belton\, TX \nNotice is hereby given that the Clearwater Underground Water Conservation District (“District”) Board of Directors (“Board”) will hold two (2) public hearings in accordance with Texas Water Code (“TWC”) Chapter 36.326 to receive input on the “Petition for Annexation of Western Williamson County” (“Petition”)\, which was delivered to the Board by the citizens of Williamson County on September 6\, 2023. \nThe Petition\, is signed by more than 50 Williamson County residents\, whom the District has verified as owning land within the territory the Petition seeks to annex (the “Petition Territory”)\, more particularly described as follows: \nBeginning at the point of intersection of the west right-of-way line of Interstate Highway 35 and the northern Williamson County line; continuing south along the west right-of-way line of Interstate Highway 35 for approximately 144\,940 feet (27.45 miles) to the point of intersection of the west right-of-way line of Interstate Highway 35 and the southern Williamson County line; continuing west along the southern boundary of the Williamson County line to the western boundary of the Williamson County line; continuing north along the western boundary of the Williamson County line to the northern boundary of the Williamson County line back to the Point of Beginning\, and containing 503 square miles of land\, more or less. \nHaving met the statutory criteria for an annexation petition prescribed by TWC § 36.325\, the Board SHALL set the time and place of separate hearings on the Petition\, and at least one hearing shall be held in the existing District boundaries and at least one hearing shall be held in the Petition Territory. At its December 13\, 2023\, open meeting\, the Board ordered the setting of two (2) hearings\, as follows: \nThe prescribed two hearings will be held as follows: \nFebruary 12\, 2024\, at 6:00 P.M. at the Cedar Park Recreation Center\, 1435 Main St\, Cedar Park\, TX\, 78613. \nFebruary 13\, 2024\, at 6:00 P.M. at the Harris Community Center\, 401 N Alexander St\, Belton\, TX\, 76513. \nA copy of the Petition for Annexation is available 10 days prior to the two public hearings at the District’s office at 700 Kennedy Court\, Belton\, Texas\, and on the District’s website at www.cuwcd.org.
